At what point should we become involved with the project?

If you are a Self Builder designing a bespoke home and intending to (or are required to) construct to achieve a rating against the Code for Sustainable Homes, it is vital that we become involved at the earliest stages, ideally at the concept stage, as the Code places specific requirements that need to be incorporated. This becomes more important the higher the level to be achieved (i.e. level 5 or level 6 (carbon neutral).

 

As part of our experience and unique approach as a Code for Sustainable Homes Assessor, we can advise on the various aspects, including which elements are the most cost effective or most efficient to introduce.

If there is a requirement to achieve a certain level, for example in Wales where there is a mandatory requirement to achieve level 3, a Pre-Assessment Estimator is required in order to validate the planning application. Standalone or Complete Solution for the Self Builder designing a bespoke home

The Code for Sustainable Homes Assessor services we offer can be provided as a standalone element with each element chosen as necessary (pre-assessment estimator, consultancy design advice etc) and we can integrate into your existing Design Team.
